..........about the Tri-County Mustang Club
Remember: "Ownership is not essential, ENTHUSIASM is!" ~ Car Clubs are only for serious car buffs ~ WRONG! Not in TCMC. ~ You have to have a Mustang ~ WRONG! ~ Not in TCMC. ~ You have to have a car ~ WRONG! ~ Not in TCMC. ~ You have to have a show car ~ WRONG! ~ Not in TCMC. ~ Doesn't it have to be stock and in original condition? WRONG! Not in TCMC. Note: Most members use their Mustangs as their daily driver. Question: Don't I need a classic Mustang, one of the original styles? NO. Question: Can it be a Mustang II? Yes. Question: Are customized Mustangs welcome? Of Course. Saleen, Rousch, Steeda Question: Is TCMC involved with racing? Not directly. Although we share information about racing events in other clubs, TCMC has yet to present it's own race event. Question: What does TCMC do? Question: Can a work in progress Mustang be in the TCMC car show? Yes. TCMC Ponies: Belonging to the Tri-County Mustang Club does not mean you need to own some super show car like you might see on exhibit at the Los Angeles Convention Center during Detroit's annual display of new and concept cars. TCMC Fun: TCMC is about the enjoyment of Mustangs (our favorite cars) than anything else, and helping each other do what it takes to keep on enjoying them. Part of that, is just knowing, and sometimes, being with other people who have this same common interest ~ in Mustangs. TCMC Rides: Depending on which way you look at it, or maybe it's more what you feel against what you wish; most of our Mustang owners show, what is their daily ride to work. It is, after all, about the fun and enjoyment. TCMC Drivers: A handfull of TCMC members are currently without any Mustangs. While others have several Mustangs. A few have designated theirs as show cars. (an insurance distinction) TCMC Activities: More often than not TCMC is involved with activities like brunch runs, picnics, and whatever ideas members bring up, that are usually fun for the whole family. At the same time, we do need to be involved with car shows too. If you never want to show your Mustang, truck, motorcycle, or your "other car", that's OK. TCMC Car Show: The TCMC annual car show, Ponies By The Sea is our only real fundraiser. While a number of members do like to be in some of the car shows, almost all members like to at least see a show once in a while. See About Joining
With apologies to Dr. Seuss see: write your own It can be old, it can be new, It may be gold, it could look blue. It might feel bold, but lost a screw. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oh, it could show, or it could park, You might not drive it after dark. It could go fast, or it might be slow, You might not buff it 'til it glows. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Or, it might be shy and it may rust, You still drive it to make Pony dust. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You could have fun, it just might be a lark. You might want custom, and it's still just stock. Have so much fun that you want it to bark, Just be careful when you drive it 'round the clock! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our 1965 Ford Mustang.... It's primer red, rusty but not dead. It's future looks bright, It will see the light. Needs welding and paint, It's far from being a saint. When we turn the key, it's sound is pure beauty. We have far to go, and our road may be slow. But one day, our car will be ready for a show. ...Our 1965 Ford Mustang .submitted by: Paul and Rose Kaye, Santa Maria, CA PaulandRoseKaye@aol.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ writer contributions wanted : please send better verses to: seuss@tcmustangclub.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
